Dr. Kelcie Brodsky: Director of Solana Beach Physical Therapy

Dr. Kelcie Brodsky earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of California, San Diego. She specializes in orthopedic, sports- related injuries, and injury prevention. Kelcie also has experience working with neurological, geriatric, and cardiac patients.

Kelcie is a life-long athlete who began playing soccer at age four. She played soccer, softball, and hockey throughout high school and went on to be the starting goalie for the UCSD Tritons women’s soccer team. Kelcie continues to play soccer semi-professionally for the San Diego Strikers. Kelcie is passionate about the profession of physical therapy and feels great satisfaction when her patients resume their recreational and sporting activities.

Kelcie is a Southern California native with a great love for all outdoor activities including soccer, hiking, pickleball, snowboarding, and going to the beach.

Joanne Danssaert, PT

In 1985, Joanne Danssaert received her Physical Therapy degree from Mount Saint Mary’s post baccalaureate program. In 1999, she opened Solana Beach Physical Therapy.

She has achieved successes in neuro-rehabilitation at the Santa Barbara Rehabilitation Institute. At the Children’s Hospital of San Diego, she demonstrated expertise in the Rheumatology Clinic and with medically fragile infants.

Joanne has consulted for the San Diego City Schools’ Alcott early intervention program and the Mary Birch Hospital’s NICU with pre and post-partum mothers. Other consultative assignments include the Logan Heights Family Health Center (formerly the Chicano Clinic).

She understands that medical education is an ongoing process, and she has continued to supplement her education with extensive course work including:

Joanne and her husband are kept busy with their 2 children and have resided in the community of Solana
Beach all of their lives. Her interests include yoga, Pilates, walking, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Rachel Gackstetter, DPT

Dr. Rachel Gackstetter received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos and Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of California, Davis. As a San Diego local, Rachel attended Canyon Crest Academy.

Rachel works with pediatric patients and provides physical therapy to local North County School Districts. She especially likes seeing the progression of pediatric developmental motor skills and takes pride in transforming physical therapy exercises into fun games for kids. Rachel also works with orthopedic, geriatric populations, and sports-related injuries at Solana Beach Physical Therapy. She enjoys helping patients achieve their goals of returning to their hobbies.

Rachel is a San Diego native and enjoys spending time outside horseback riding, running, and hiking with her dog. She also likes painting in her free time.

Dr. Emily Morley, PT, DPT, CAFS

Dr. Emily Morley earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from South College in 2023. Prior to this she had been a physical therapist assistant working in outpatient orthopedics in New Mexico. Originally from northern New York, she has spent the last several years living in various parts of the US working in different aspects of physical therapy while she continued to pursue her education in physical therapy. In addition to her Doctorate she holds an A.S. in Physical Therapy Assistant from Whatcom Community College and a B.A. in History from SUNY Potsdam.

She specializes in orthopedics, sports related injuries, pre and post operative care, connective tissue disorders such Ehler's Danlos Syndrome and its associated diagnoses, and has extensive experience working with athletic and geriatric populations. She holds certifications in Applied Functional Science and has additional training in instrumented assisted soft tissue mobilization as well as kinesiotaping for orthopedics.  

When not in the clinic she spends her time with her husband, family, and three cats. She is a long time athelete having competed in multiple team based sports and grew up being a very active, outdoors child. She enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, crocheting and pursuing various physical activities.
